North Dakota Abuse Statistics

We are not ignorant and we will take action

In 2010 alone, 3875 children were seen for interviews or examinations around the state for Abuse or Neglect.  1,136 of those children needed some form of protection action.  That means that approximately 900 abusive caregivers were confronted.

Fargo has one of three Children’s Advocacy Center in ND, so many children from around the state and parts of Minnesota as well, are brought to our community for their physical exams and interviews.  It is our goal to equip each child that enters a hospital or Advocacy Center to be seen for Abuse or neglect with a “Bag of Hope”.

A 2005 North Dakota Department of Human Services study gave further breakdowns for the abuse cases investigated that year.
